The Hormone Lie: Why ”Eat Less, Move More” Stopped Working

Are you a women in your late thirties to early fifties finding that all the things that used to work for weight loss just aren't working anymore? Eventually, the nervous and endocrine systems get burned out and that's when we start seeing that weight we've worked so hard to keep off start creeping back. We try harder, thinking cutting calories further, exercising more and harder will reverse it,  but it's actually making matters worse.

In order to release the weight we need to calm the nervous system, fuel our bodies not starve, exercise in a way that supports hormones rather than adding stress, and change our inner dialogue.

Today we continue the moving in faith series. Once again, God is taking me in a bit if an unexpected direction with this and he as asked me to talk about money. Specifically, I am led to talk about how part of walking in faith and spiritual growth will require healing on many levels and as odd as it may seem, money is a huge part of this. So, I want to re-cap what these tests or journeys in faith serve, which is:
1, is the growth and evolution of your soul,
2, to bring you closer to or in alignment with the life you are destined for,
3, refinement, and
4, to lead you back to the truth of who you are.
 
So what does money have to do with all this? Well, as I mentioned in the first episode, all the different seasons of faith I’ve experienced in the past decade of my life three life areas in particular were significantly impacted, one of which is finances, but also relationships, and my sense of self-worth and relationship to self.

This is the third episode in the Creating a Healthy Lifestyle miniseries. Today is all about exercise, specifically essentials of a comprehensive exercise routine. In the previous two episodes I covered mindset and nutrition, so go check those out if you missed them (episodes 134 and 136).
As a quick refresher there are 3 primary components to weight loss or body transformation mindset, nutrition, and exercise. It is 100% mindset, 80% food, and 20% exercise. For whatever reason, it seems like many people’s perceptions are that it is 90% exercise 10% food and mindset is hardly mentioned or thought of.

As I thought about what to dive into this week, I was led to focus on what one must be aware of when they set out on a leap of faith of spiritual growth journey.
One thing I have learned, looking back on many of my walks by faith and not sight is that all of these seasons serve a couple purposes: 1, is the growth and evolution of your  soul, 2, to bring you closer to or in alignment with the life you are destined for, 3, refinement, and 4, to lead you back to the truth of who you are.
Today I am focusing on the second item, how a leap of faith or season of growing in your spirit serves to bring you into alignment with the life you desire or are destined for. Because, when you choose this path, it is going to involve stripping away of some or all of the things you currently may think are really important. This can include relationships, homes, jobs, other material items, money, even who you think you are, your ego.

Today is the first episode of the series, Moving in Faith: Taking the Leap. As I discussed in Episode 133, last week, this is the first phase, makes sense right, there has to be something that starts your movement in faith.
We often hear it referred to as a leap of faith, right. However, sometimes it’s not a leap, but more of a push, maybe a gentle nudge. So, I have some examples of what this looks like, since it isn’t always as obvious and the “call” can come in many forms. Sometimes it won’t even look like or feel like a leap of faith at first. Other times it is so obvious you can’t miss it.

Today I am kicking off a series called Moving in Faith. I think it is going to be something of a course in some respects and is really going to help a lot of people. I have been on fire about this all day. I am giving all glory to the Most High, God, right here from the get go as without Him I don’t know where I would be and I am just the vessel through which He is moving and speaking in this series.
I literally just started receiving this in the past week or so, and, today the spirit is moving through me so strongly. However, I now understand that this ministry if you will began about ten years ago. It is becoming crystal clear to me that God has been developing this ministry through all that I have been through in the past 10 years, and even through my whole life in some aspects of it.

Today I am talking about setting boundaries. It is critical to starting and staying on your health and wellness journey. Lack of boundaries is one of the biggest reasons people struggle to get started with fitness and nutrition or to stick with it. We tell ourselves we have no time, we have to work late, we have to be at so and so’s event, and so on. This may be tough to hear, but none of this is true. We don’t truly have to do anything; we just convince ourselves that we do.  So how do we shift this? How do we get ourselves out of this cycle of hustle and burnout caused by lack of boundaries? How do we set boundaries for ourselves?
Evaluate where you are.
Determine how you want things to change.
Decide.
Commit.
Identify and release the limiting beliefs as the come up.
